Redford back on the winning trail ?

You would have to think that Redford will have too many guns for his six rivals in the 6f Conditions Stakes at Thirsk. The winner of the Ayr Gold Cup will be out to get his season off to a winning start with bigger targets surely waiting on the horizon for him. Tom Queally has been booked to do the steering on his only ride at the track so they must mean business and Nicholls has also snapped up Fallon for Evens and Odds and it will be a interesting battle between those two. Hamish McGonagall and Tax Free are the only other two in it in my view and I'm not sure that the former will be able to sustain his usual front running tactics over 6f and will probably set the race up for Redford to win and he is available at 11/4.

The earlier 3yo Class 3 Handicap over 5f has a couple more Nicholls horses who look capable of  going close and I liked the way Sacrosanctus won last time out on the all weather and I can see no reason for not backing him in this at what could be an ew price with Ian Mongan riding. However we are bound to see some improved efforts from the others with Magnini having only his fourth start and there are 7 last time out winners in the field which has made the bookies go 5/1 about the fav.
