It's good to be back !

Well if you wondered why there have been no posts for a couple of weeks its because Ive been on my hols and Im now back refreshed and raring to go !
I see whilst I was away King of Eden was a 10/1 wineer for the "Master List" of sprinters to follow.

The Class 3 Spring into Racing at Beverley Handicap over 5f sees 17 runners line up at this course which has in the past had one of the strongest draw biases in the country for this distance. With the new draw numbering system that has been implemented we have to watch we dont get caught out in these early days of the new season, so dont forget that for races up a straight track or with a right hand bend the low numbers work from the inside rail out. Therefore according to the new system Solemn has the best draw advantage in stall 1 and Green Park has the worst of the draw in stall 17.

Lenny Bee won this race comfortably first time out last year off a mark of 85 from a draw next to the rail on ground that rode a bit dead, he has had plenty of luck with the draw this time around too with stall 2. He had 3 more runs on the turf after that win but although he didnt win again he ran with credit on firmer going. It looks like being Good to Firm at Beverley and that could play into the hands of the likes of Beat the Bell and Humidor. George Baker has his sights on running Humidor in the Stewards Cup so he will need to get his handicap mark up if that plan is come into fruition. Beat the Bell was only 4 1/4 lengths behind Cheveton in the Ayr Bronze Cup at the end of last season and he also picked up 3 Handicaps during the year so he should be bang there at the death from his low draw.
There is bound to be plenty of early pace on with the likes of Fol Hollow, Wozthecat and Rocket Bob(3rd in Epsom Dash), however the race to me doesnt look as strong as last year and for that reason I'm going to go with Lenny Bee for a repeat victory for his new trainer with Dale Swift taking off a handy 5lb to effectively put him on the same mark.
If you fancy a small tricast then why not do a perm with Lenny Bee, Beat the Bell, Humidor and Rocket Bob.

Over at Nottingham the chances are that Barry Hills will have Face the Problem wound up for his first start of the season. This horse is seriously quick, he gets into this race on favourable terms and it wouldnt be a surprise to see him going on to bigger targets as the year progresses. The stables website had this to say earlier in the week about him " Face The Problem makes his seasonal reappearance at Nottingham on Wednesday. He seems to have settled down a bit over the winter and can hopefully fulfil the promise he has always shown. There are not many opportunities for three year old sprinters so he needs to step up to the mark".
Ryan Moore is an interesting booking for Secret Asset, Kieren Fallon gets on well with Five Star Junior and Iver Bridge Lad appears to be in the form of his life.

Be sure to visit tomorrow when I will have news of an interesting one in the last race at Ripon.
